Why Lubbock Christian University?
Dr. Beth Robinson, Assistant Provost and Program Director for the Master of Science in Human Services
I think the students who should choose our program are first of all, students who value a Christian world view as well as a professional view of human services. If they want to learn the theories and practices of the field and have it examined from a Christian world view, we’re the ideal program for them.
All of us, as instructors, have worked with families who are troubled and we feel a strong commitment from a Christian world view to help strengthen families because we believe that families are the foundation.
We have students who come from working in a hospital, we have teachers, we have students who are case managers, we have students who are interested in adoption.
They come from all kinds of racial groups, they come from all over the country, they come from a variety of Christian and religions backgrounds, but I think the one common thing they have is, they are all very interested in examining human services from a Christian world view.
I would tell students who are considering our program that this will challenge you in ways that you don’t expect. It will challenge you personally. It will challenge you spiritually. It will challenge you academically. But it will prepare you to the best professional in the field. It will change your life.
